Known for being a residential neighborhood, Valley Village offers residents an urban feel with lots of restaurants, bars, coffee shops, and parks. 

SCHOOL DISTRICT
Valley Village is a neighborhood in the San Fernando Valley region of Los Angeles that neighbors areas like North Hollywood and Sherman Oaks. It contains highly ranked schools a part of the Los Angeles Unified School District, such as Colfax Charter Elementary and Rio Vista Elementary, and private schools like Campbell Hall and Oakwood Secondary.

COMMUNITY & CRIME REPORT
According to the LA Times Neighborhood Crime Maps, Valley Village is ranked 90 out of 209 for most violent crimes per 10,000 people and 54 out of 209 for most property crimes. It is lower in crime rate compared to its neighboring areas North Hollywood and Studio City, with most crimes being aggravated assault and theft from vehicle.

SHOPPING
Westfield Fashion Square is a shopping mall located in Sherman Oaks, a neighboring area to Valley Village. It is one of the most popular shopping malls in the valley and houses retail stores such as Bloomingdale’s, Tesla, Sephora and Macy’s. There’s a Target located in North Hollywood and HomeGoods located in Studio City not too far away.

RESTAURANTS
Many popular restaurants around Valley Village are located in Studio City, a less residential area. Katsuya and Iroha Sushi are both in Studio City and offer great sushi that many of the locals love. Laurel Tavern on Ventura Blvd is a casual bar with popular happy hour specials, including their burger.

GROCERY STORES
Gelson’s Market is a contemporary market with a range of fresh produce and wines. It is located on Laurel Canyon Blvd just north of the 101 freeway.

For all organic and natural foods, there’s a Whole Foods Market located in Sherman Oaks nearby. For a more mainstream grocery store chain, there’s a Ralphs on W Magnolia Blvd in Van Nuys that has everything you need from produce and deli items to homegoods.

GYMS & ACTIVITIES
To stay active in Valley Village, there are gyms like LA Fitness and G-Train Fitness Center which are membership based facilities with high class equipment and locker rooms. For yoga and pilates lovers, there are local spots like Mind to Body Pilates Studio located on Rhodes Ave and Yoga NoHo on Vineland Ave which offer a range of yoga classes in heated studios.

LANDMARKS & ATTRACTIONS
Valley Village is located near Universal City with Universal Studios, which has its theme park and film studios. The park is perfect on a sunny day and includes attractions such as The Wizarding World of Harry Potter and a studio tour which features backdrops and sets used in many of their films. If you’re looking for something with a little more nature, The Japanese Garden is not too far away in the Sepulveda Basin Recreation Area. It is home to 6.5 acres of a public Japanese garden that you can explore either by oneself or led by a tour guide for a small fee.
