SCHOOL DISTRICT
Topanga Canyon is located in the Santa Monica Mountains region of LA and neighbors areas such as Calabasas, Malibu, Tarzana, and the Pacific Palisades. It contains highly ranked schools a part of the Los Angeles Unified School District, such as Topanga Elementary Charter School, and private schools like Manzanita School and Topanga Montessori School.

According to the LA Times Neighborhood Crime Maps, Topanga is ranked 187 out of 209 for most violent crimes per 10,000 people and 197 out of 209 for most property crimes. These rankings are extremely low for LA county as there have been zero reported violent crimes and one reported property crime in the past six months.

SHOPPING
Westfield Topanga and The Village is a shopping mall located in the Canoga Park neighborhood of LA. It is one of the most popular shopping malls in the city and houses retail stores such as Macy’s, Neiman Marcus, Nordstrom and Target. There’s also an AMC Theatre, perfect for a movie night, and a play area for kids to stay entertained while at the mall.

RESTAURANTS
Topanga is less dense with restaurants than neighboring areas, but has great dining options specifically located near the Westfield Topanga and The Village shopping center. If you’re looking for more high-end dining, Gyu-Kaku is a Japanese BBQ spot located in Canoga Park that is known for its garlic shrimp and BBQ prime ribs. If you want something casual, California Pizza Kitchen, Tender Greens, and Cava all offer healthy, California-style cuisine that can be easy on-the-go.

GROCERY STORES
Located in Topanga Center, one of the most centrally located grocery stores is Topanga Creek General Store. It is locally owned and operated so it has the basics of most general stores, but also unique and local products. If you’re looking for something more gourmet than a general store, Canyon Gourmet is located in Pine Tree Circle and offers fresh produce, fine cheese, and local wines. 

GYMS & ACTIVITIES
To stay active in Topanga, there are group workout classes such as Pure Barre, which has different levels of barre and pilates classes, and Group Interval Training, which focuses on training through different HIIT workout methods. If you’re looking for a gym, there is a 24 Hour Fitness located in the Westfield Topanga and The Village Shopping Center which has updated equipment and lockers perfect for any gym workout.

LANDMARKS & ATTRACTIONS
Topanga is known for its beautiful nature and views by the surrounding mountains and beaches. Topanga State Park and Parker Mesa Overlook are two of the most popular hiking trails in LA, which offer great views of the coast and Santa Monica Mountains. If you’re looking to relax on the water, nearby Topanga Beach is a public beach on the PCH that is never too busy and fun to watch surfers go by.
