SCHOOL DISTRICT
Silver Lake is a neighborhood in the Central L.A. region of Los Angeles and neighbors communities like Atwater Village, East Hollywood, Echo Park, and Elysian Valley. It contains highly ranked schools a part of the Los Angeles Unified School District, such as Franklin Avenue Elementary and Camino Nuevo Charter High, and private schools like Baxter Montessori and Canyon Oaks School.

With its great diversity in food, Silver Lake has many popular restaurants that people from all over L.A. come to visit. Ma’am Sir is a Filipino restaurant located on W Sunset Blvd that is popular at any time of the day. You must try the longganisa sandwich and pork sisig, especially for brunch with a boozy cocktail. Night + Market Song is a popular Thai restaurant on W Sunset Blvd that always has a line out of the door. If you’re looking for Italian food, Speranza and Blair’s always draw crowds because of their popular dishes like bolognese and lamb chops.

Silver Lake has a Trader Joe’s on Hyperion Ave, which is a grocery chain with a variety of signature items plus fresh produce and wines. For all organic and natural foods, there’s a Whole Foods Market located on Glendale Blvd. For a more mainstream grocery store chain, there’s a Vons on W Sunset Blvd that has everything you need from produce and deli items to homegoods.
