M A L I B U
Known for its stunning beaches and celebrity homes, Malibu is one of LA’s most sought after neighborhoods.
SHOPPING & GROCERIES
The Malibu Country Mart and Malibu Village, located across from each other, provide a one of a kind shopping experience. The location is a one-stop shop for trendy clothing from stores like Madison and Maxfield, or upscale men’s wear from stores like Ralph Lauren and John Varvatos.
Malibu is known as a global trendsetter for health and wellness and its abundance of grocery store options reflect that. The neighborhood is home to classics like Ralph’s and Pavillions, while also boasting more upscale stores like Whole Foods and Vintage Grocers, a local favorite. Other high-end options, like Erewhon, are located just minutes away in Calabasas.
RESTAURANTS
With a wide variety of dining options, Malibu is known for its casual and upscale restaurants, both featuring delicious cuisine. More casual options include Malibu Farm, with healthy and fresh choices, located on the end of the Malibu Pier. If you’re looking for something fancier, Nobu Malibu or Mastro’s Ocean Club both serve delicious seafood with ocean views. The Little Beach House (Soho house) is located on PCH next to Nobu - A private members club where creatives can come and socialize.
STAYING ACTIVE
Staying fit and healthy comes easily when living in Malibu. Besides the dozens of gorgeous hiking trails throughout the community and Santa Monica Mountains, workout centers like SoulCycle, Pure Barre, Pilates Plus and 5 Point Yoga are easily accessible.
SCHOOLS & COMMUNITY
Malibu is a part of the Malibu-Santa Monica Unified School District, separate from the Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD). On Niche’s website, the Malibu-Santa Monica Unified School District received an A+ grade on their scale. Malibu-Santa Monica Unified School District was also ranked the 25th best school district in California.
According to the Los Angeles Times crime map, Malibu’s crime rates are extremely low. Malibu also has its own police jurisdiction, making the community even safer.
There are over 30 smaller communities within Malibu that each have qualities that make them unique. Those with a bigger budget and love for the beach may opt for Carbon Beach, one of Malibu’s elite private beaches with just under 70 properties. Those looking to live more inland may be interested in Winding Way or Serra Retreat.
LANDMARKS & ATTRACTIONS
Zuma Beach, perhaps Malibu’s most well-known attraction, draws visitors from all over the world who come to surf, relax, and swim. In addition to Zuma Beach, Malibu is home to dozens of public and private beaches.
Another one of Malibu’s iconic attractions is its annual Malibu Chili Cook-off in early September to benefit the Boys & Girls Club of Malibu. With live music, carnival rides and games, food vendors, and of course, a chili making contest, the Chili Cook-off is the perfect end to summer.
