Located just 35 miles away from Downtown Los Angeles, Huntington Beach is well-known for its 9.5 miles of sandy beaches, variety in cuisine, and its surfing culture.

SCHOOL DISTRICT

Students of Huntington Beach are a part of two school districts. The Huntington Beach City School District has two middle schools and seven elementary schools. As students progress in the education system, they become part of the Huntington Beach Union High School District. Niche.com ranks The Huntington Beach City School District as 205 out of the 738 Californian schools with the best teachers.

SHOPPING
In Huntington Beach, shopping can be done with a view. Alongside the pier and Main Street are several souvenir shops that allow visitors to take home a memento from the loved Surf City. Pacific City, Huntington Beach’s newest shopping center, is home to surf shops and vintage boutiques. 5th & PCH is an outdoor shopping center that is smaller than most shopping centers in Huntington Beach, but still provides well-known retail names like Rip Curl and Forever 21. Bella Terra, located at the 405 Freeway and Beach Boulevard, offers a variety of classic shops. Shop for apparel or footwear at Burlington’s Coat Factor, or Kohl’s. Stop by Barnes & Noble to find the perfect book for your next beach day. There’s even a Costco conveniently located near the parking structure. 

RESTAURANTS
From local’s favorites to oceanfront dining to upscale restaurants, Huntington Beach offers everything that you can imagine for a perfect meal. Sancho’s Tacos offer their own twists on breakfast classics. For those craving something healthy, Jan’s Health Bar allows customers to customize healthy food and beverage options. 

For those with dietary concerns, Bodhi Tree Vegetarian Cafe has a menu dedicated to vegetarian and vegan diets. For burger lovers, TK Burger, voted the best burgers in Orange County, offers only the freshest and finest ingredients available. For Mexican cuisine lovers, Supermex offers classic Mexican comfort food. 

GROCERY STORES
Huntington Beach has several grocery stores conveniently located throughout the city. For those with dietary concerns, Whole Foods is a viable alternative.  Whole Food products may be paleo-friendly, vegan, and vegetarian. Whole Foods also provides a variety of local, organic, and non-GMO choices. 
A cheaper alternative to Whole Foods is Sprout’s Farmer Market. Vons, Albertsons, Ralphs, and Grocery Outlet are also available.

GYMS & ACTIVITIES
Huntington Beach offers a variety of fitness clubs and gyms. The Ocean Plaza UFC Gym offers classes for mixed martial arts, Brazilian jiu-jitsu, spin, and yoga. Crunch Fitness in Marina Village provides high-energy group classes such as Aerobics with Attitude, Cardio Groove, and Cycle Karaoke. Bikram Hot Yoga helps people live up to their potential. KÔR Pilates focuses on nutrition and wellness.

LANDMARKS & ATTRACTIONS
Old World offers unique European dining, shopping, entertainment, and special events. While they’re best known for its grand Oktoberfest Celebrations, Old World is also home to award-winning German restaurants, bars, and delis. Special events are hosted every week including Dachshund races and farmer markets. 

The Huntington Beach Pier is the main attraction and landmark of Huntington Beach. The pier is always busy; people can be seen riding bikes, basking in the sun, watching the sunset, surfing, or enjoying the many cuisines of Huntington Beach. Every Tuesday evening, Surf City Nights takes over Main Street with live music and locally made goods.

Huntington Beach is home to The Vans US Open of Surfing. This is the world's largest surf competition and lifestyle festival. The event includes world-class surfing, skateboarding and BMX competitions, movie premieres, and retail and art exhibitions. 

Huntington Central Park is the largest city-owned and operated park within Orange County. The park is 356 acres wide and includes enough activities for a nice day-trip. The park’s equestrian center, disc golf course, dog park, and theater are all loved by the community.
