Located in the San Fernando Valley, Encino is an ideal residential neighborhood as it offers residents an urban feel with a lot of restaurants, coffee shops, and parks.

SCHOOL DISTRICT
Encino is a neighborhood in the San Fernando Valley region of Los Angeles and neighbors areas such as Bel-Air, Brentwood, Lake Balboa and Pacific Palisades. It contains highly ranked schools a part of the Los Angeles Unified School District, such as Encino Elementary and Sherman Oaks Center for Enriched Studies, and private schools like Berkeley Hall and Milken Community High School.

COMMUNITY & CRIME REPORT
According to the LA Times Neighborhood Crime Maps, Encino is ranked 104 out of 209 for most violent crimes per 10,000 people and 64 out of 209 for most property crimes. It is lower in crime rate compared to its neighboring areas Sherman Oaks and Tarzana, with most crimes being aggravated assault and theft from vehicle.

SHOPPING
Westfield Fashion Square is a shopping mall located in Sherman Oaks, a neighboring area to Encino. It is one of the most popular shopping malls in the valley and houses retail stores such as Bloomingdale’s, Tesla, Sephora and Macy’s. Another popular shopping center is Encino Market Place located on Ventura Blvd. It is a Caruso property home to restaurants Trattoria Farfalla and Sweet Lady Jane. It also has retail stores Planet Beauty and CVS Pharmacy.

RESTAURANTS
Encino has a handful of delicious, local restaurants like Okumura and Shin Sushi, which are both some of the best sushi spots in LA with prices ranging from low to high. If you’re looking for an easy breakfast and lunch option, Claudine is located on Ventura Blvd and offers a range of pastries, pancakes, and avocado toast to accompany a boozy brunch. 

GROCERY STORES
Gelson’s Market is an organic and gourmet grocery store on Ventura Blvd that offers delicious prepared foods. For a mainstream grocery store, Smart & Final is located on Ventura Blvd and has everything you need from fresh produce to household items to a deli selection. Trader Joe’s is a grocery chain located on Burbank Blvd with a variety of signature items plus fresh produce and wines.

GYMS & ACTIVITIES
To stay active in Encino, there are gyms like Equinox and L.A. Fitness which are membership based facilities with high class equipment and locker rooms. For yoga and pilates lovers, there is a CorePower Yoga located in the Plaza De Oro Shopping Center on Ventura Blvd which offers a range of classes with and without weights in heated studios.

LANDMARKS & ATTRACTIONS
Encino is a residential and commercial neighborhood with most attractions being its hiking and biking trails. Upper Canyonback Trailhead is located in the Santa Monica Mountains between Mulholland Drive and Mountain Gate Country Club. This hike is 3 miles round trip with a 200 foot elevation between high and low points of the trail. San Vicente Mountain Park is located west of the 405 freeway, above the Encino Reservoir, and offers many hiking and biking trails with views of the San Vicente Mountains.
