SCHOOL DISTRICT
Echo Park is a neighborhood in the Central L.A. region of Los Angeles that contains areas Angelino Heights and Elysian Heights. It contains highly ranked schools a part of the Los Angeles Unified School District, such as Gabriella Charter and Downtown Business High, and private schools like Cathedral High School and DC Academy.

Shout and About is a gift and stationary store on Echo Park Ave that offers a unique selection of small knick knacks. Yolk is also a fun gift store conveniently located on W Sunset Blvd that is popular amongst the locals and has a variety of home goods and kid’s toys.

Located beside Silver Lake and offering a great diversity in food, Echo Park has many popular restaurants that people from all over L.A. come to visit. The best Italian restaurants are here, like Masa of Echo Park and Cosa Buona. Both are neighborhood favorites that many of the locals are found at. If you’re in the mood for Mexican, Guisados is located on W Sunset Blvd and is perfect for tacos on the go.

Echo Park has a Trader Joe’s nearby on Hyperion Ave, which is a grocery chain with a variety of signature items plus fresh produce and wines. For all organic and natural foods, there’s a Whole Foods Market located on Glendale Blvd. For a more mainstream grocery store chain, there’s a Vons on N Alvarado St that has everything you need from produce and deli items to homegoods.

Echo Park is known for its location containing the Echo Park Lake. There are many activities to do here, especially in the sunny weather, like walking or running the 1-mile loop around the lake, taking swan boats out onto the water, or having a picnic in the grass. Elysian Park is nearby and offers great views and hiking trails, with views of the Dodger Stadium and Downtown.
